Rowdy Herrington

Rowdy Herrington is a veteran of eight feature films. He began his career writing and directing the cult thriller Jack's Back, starring James Spader and Cynthia Gibb. He then teamed with producer Joel Silver, directing the United Artists' action hit Road House starring Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch and Sam Elliott. Herrington next directed the columbia Pictures' underground boxing drama Gladiator starring James Marshall, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Brian Dennehy. He went on to write and direct the Columbia Pictures' action thriller Striking Distance set in his hometown of Pittsburgh and starring Bruce Willis and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Herrington wrote and directed the legal thriller A Murder of Crows starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Tom Berenger. He next wrote and directed the High Sierras bank robbery picture The Stickup starring James Spader and Leslie Stefanson. He followed that with the drama I Witness starring Jeff Daniels as a human rights worker investigating mass murder in Mexico. Also starring were James Spader, Portia DeRossi and Clifton Collins Jr.

Herrington is an avid golfer and equestrian and an Adjunct Professor at the celebrated USC Film School, where he teaches Master's Classes in Directing. He lives with his wife, Toni Semple, two dogs, two cats and five horses in Malibu, California.
